Silly Google. Of all the things Google does right, they still can’t get basic voice recognition down. Mind you, this voicemail CAME FROM GOOGLE VOICE. To top that, it’s an automated voicemail.
There are 2 things wrong with this photo.
First off, I am located in Charlotte, NC, as stated via my default location. When I typed in 2126, I imagined that Google would show local results prior to NY results. Oh, I don’t know, maybe even my own address, which starts with 2126.
Secondly, while the top result seems to be an address, it’s not. See, addresses don’t end in LLC. Do you know what does? Businesses. So, somewhere on Wheeler Road in Hauppauge, NY, there’s a business called “21263 Gaylord Avenue LLC”, and Google was pretty certain that I wanted this result.
Huh?
Stop the Internet Blacklist Legislation
January 18th. Tomorrow, I will be silent across all web sites and social media accounts in support of the SOPA / PIPA blackout. I will not be alone in this, silently protesting alongside the likes of Reddit, Wikipedia, Google, Wordpress, Mozilla, and thousands of other websites and internet based companies.
I encourage all others to do the same. We need to ensure that those representing us in the government know that we do not support the passing of laws that will stifle and break the Internet as we know it. Please help educate your friends and family who may not be aware of the consequences that SOPA, PIPA, and similar bills would have on our open Internet.

Google will join SOPA / PIPA protest. Using their popular home page as a bearer of bad news, Google will join in the protests along side Wikipedia, Reddit and thousands of other websites tomorrow, January 18th. While Google will not be performing a full blackout like many others, they will be using their home page to protest the proposed bills.

Google Music launches Magnifier
As if Google Music wasn’t awesome enough as is, they have recently launched Magnifier, a music discovery blog. All songs mentioned on the blog can be instantly added to your Google Music archive and downloaded for free. The selection of songs offered so far covers a wide range of music, both new and old. Google Orkut has 100 million users and Google Buzz had 30 million within their first week, so I don’t expect Google+ to really go anywhere and I’m thankful for that. Facebook offers more control than any social media site I’ve been on over the last 15 years. It appears that everyone thinks Facebook doesn’t offer this control though, so I figured I’d try to help out some instead of just continuing to bitch.
