Repeal Amendment One. Clever, I like it. I wish I knew who to give credit to for the protest art.

Resting on a rock face that we camped on later that night. The clouds in the distance are hanging over Grandfather Mountain, in Boone, NC.
So, I may enjoy milking this photo from time to time by posting it to hiking Tumblrs. It is one of my favorite photos of myself.
I need to schedule some trail time soon.
Exploring. I recently gave my car a new hat for the spring time, and decided to take the bike a couple miles down the road to test out the hat. I was just going for a quick 8 mile ride on a greenway when I noticed this off the side of the creek. It appears to be an old abandoned 2-story mill. It had a fence and no trespassing signs all around it, so, of course, I jumped the fence to get a closer look.
BTW, roof racks are terrifyingly loud when the sun roof is open. I thought my bike was going to go flying off any second.
Mmm, BBQ. One of the perks of living in North Carolina. (Taken with instagram)
Follow Up of the Day: Tommy Jordan, the former Marine who made waves last week with a video of himself putting his own laptop out of its misery, was visited by Child Protective Services officials as well as local police officers in the wake of his Internet stardom.
The Child Services agents reportedly interviewed the Stanly County, NC man and his daughter separately, but took no action. The police, however, did have something to say to Jordan: “Kudos.”
“I actually had a “thank you” from an entire detectives squad,” Jordan wrote in a Facebook post published over the weekend. “And another police officer is using it in a positive manner in his presentation for the school system. How’s about those apples? Didn’t expect THAT when you called the cops did you?”
Many people apparently called to ask Albermarle police what was being done about the angry dad, but were told there was nothing that could be done as Jordan lives outside city limits, and therefore outside police jurisdiction.
Speaking with Channel 9, a Stanly County Sheriff’s Office spox said Jordan broke no laws, and an investigation would not be launched.

DON’T MESS WITH NORTH CAROLINA, YA’LL!
Outer Banks, NC. Look at you being so sexy with your barrier islands, sprawling sand bars, expansive eroding beaches, and hurricane prone cities. You’re the perfect beach for a guy like me… and I will be in you in May! You’re only 250 miles east of me, yet the 6-7 hour drive has always prevented me from visiting you. Not this year!
Brother Reade - The Marcie Song
I want to lie with her in the wildest ways. I was dazed and fluttered like I climbed a stage, but I’m melting in the warmth of her eyes and face. I’m froze in place. She flashed back to childish days, she said, “I can’t breath,” rolling up her long sleeves. Now I’m married to a concept I can’t conceive. I ain’t want to just leave, but I can’t just be where I stand ‘cause, please, I done lost enough sleep.
